How Alcohol is Made
The type of alcohol that is made in each country depends on the fruit, vegetables and grains that can be grown. The different types of crops can then be used to make alcohol.
For example, in Scotland barley is used to make whisky, in Japan rice is used to make saki, in Russia potatoes are used to make vodka and in France grapes are used to make wine.
Different kinds of alcoholic drinks are made using different techniques in order to make them different strengths.
