First Aid
First Aid is help given to someone who is injured or seems ill before the emergency medical services arrive. People may need first aid for a variety of reasons. If you know how to give first aid you could prevent them from further harm or even save a life.
Check that the person is breathing

- Place them in the recovery position (as shown)
- Keep them warm
- Call an ambulance – call 999
- Stay with them, talk to them and keep them calm.
If you think someone needs help in an emergency call 999 immediately. The call is free. Emergency medical staff will need to know what has happened and what alcohol and drugs have been taken, if any. This information will help them save lives.
