Solvents

Solvents use is when someone inhales the fumes of common household chemicals, such as glue, paint, aerosols or lighter fluid. Using solvents makes you feel light headed.

Sniffing the fumes of solvents can make people feel light-headed and dizzy. It can also give them a headache, make them feel uncoordinated or hallucinate. The effects are short lasting so people may want to keep using them again and again.

Squirting Gases or Aerosols

Squirting gases or aerosols straight down the throat can make people feel high for a short time but it can also make the throat swell, cause breathing difficulties and heart failure. The risks of using solvents this way are very high because people have been known to die even the first time they do it.

It is illegal to sell solvents to anyone aged under 18.
